New York Student Spotlight
Michael was born and currently lives in lower Manhattan in the shadow of the Freedom Tower. He is in the 8th grade at Our Lady of Pompeii School in Greenwich Village. Michael loves sports, basketball and hockey in particular. Michael’s love for acting came from watching his older brother, also an actor, who was a drama major at LaGuardia High School For the Performing Arts. Watching his brother on stage and on film made him realize this was what he wanted to do. Michael is also hoping to attend LaGuardia next Fall. He is in his third year of classes at the Lee Strasberg Institute. Michael started acting in some school plays and has done some off off Broadway theater as well. He had the lead in a Public Service Announcement on bullying that was shown in schools around New York. He will be appearing in two films that are premiering at the Sundance Film Festival; he has a supporting role in the short film “Killer”, directed by Matt Kazman. He also has a principal role in a feature film, “Little Men”, directed by Ira Sachs, co-staring Greg Kinnear, Alfred Molina and Jennifer Ehlre.
